Personal Value 1
I have clarified what is important to me - who I am, who I want to be, and what I want to accomplish. For instance, throughout this internship, I realized that I am passionate about the conservation of both the land and the sea. I realized that I want to be a person who makes a difference to both people and the Earth.
Personal Value 2
I gained a greater perspective on global issues. One social issue (local or global) that I learned more about is European voting. Since we were here during the EU voting period I saw candidate posters everywhere and it was all over social media. I learned that it similar to how it is done in the US but there were still some differences, just like anything else.
Personal Value 3
I had to learn how to adapt. One change that was really hard for me to adapt to in my host culture was the overall business of everything here in Sorrento. I have a hard time around large groups of people so it has been really hard for me to adapt to the large groups of people everywhere. I had to learn to take breaks for myself and cherish the little moments of silence. I also had to learn to find beauty in the crowded streets. And now I find it beautiful to watch all of the people conversing and walking in the streets going from one destination to another.
